The Copacabana Peninsula ( Spanish Península de Copacabana , Quechua Qupaqhawana yaqa wat'a ) is the largest peninsula in Lake Titicaca in South America . The inland peninsula protrudes from the southern shore in the eastern part of the lake to the north and divides the lake into a larger part in the northeast (called Lago Chucuito ) and the smaller part in the southwest ( Wiñaymarka ).

The southern part of the peninsula is part of the Peruvian province of Yunguyo ( Puno region ), the northern part belongs to the Bolivian province of Manco Kapac ( La Paz department ). The Bolivian part of the Copacabana Peninsula can only be reached by land via Peru, otherwise by boat via the narrow road from Tiquina .

The peninsula is named after the Bolivian city of Copacabana located on it .
