Baron Cord Plato von Schloen, called Gehle (also from Chalon, called Gehle ; * December 1661 , † May 26, 1723 in Annaberg ) was a Hanoverian administrative officer.

origin

His grandfather of the same name was Cord Plato von Schloen . Gehle (born January 29, 1577 presumably Hollwinkel; † June 2, 1650), the lieutenant colonel in 1624, then at the time of the Thirty Years War Danish lieutenant general in Brunswick and finally Spanish services, and also princely Braunschweigisch-Lüneburg War Council and Landdrost of the County of Diepholtz, and owned Hollwinkel, Lübbecke and Dorpel. His grandmother was Mette (Mechthild) von Rhedenfrom the Ovelgünne family, and the couple had 7 daughters and 6 sons. One of them, the son Cord Plato von Schloen called von Gehlen, married Katharina Maria von Groppendorf and fathered a son of the same name, namely said Cord Plato von Schloen (1661–1723), and probably also his two sisters, Dorothee († 1740) and Anna Agnes von Chalon called Gelen ad H. Ovelgünne († 1731), both of whom married into the Bar zu Barenaue family.

Life

Around 1686 Cord Plato was a cavalier with Prince Karl Philipp , in 1690 court and chamber councilor in Ratzeburg, in 1713 Landdrost in Diepholz. From 1715 to 1716, together with Albrecht Andreas von Ramdohr, he was acting chairman of the government in the duchies of Bremen and Verden , after the electorate of Braunschweig-Lüneburg took over the duchies of Denmark on October 15, 1715 . The seat of government was in Stade . In 1716 he returned to Hanover, and Johann Friedrich von Staffhorst took over his duties in Stade. He was then a Privy Councilor in Hanover.

Offspring and possessions

Cord Plato von Schloen was the owner of Gut Dorpel . He was married to Johanna Theodora von dem Brincken (1668–1734), and they had two daughters:

  • Dorothea Maria Justina von Schloen, called Gehle (born March 19, 1694 - † November 5, 1770), married Ernst August Graf von Schlitz called von Görtz (* 1687 - April 6, 1720), a son of Friedrich Wilhelm von Schlitz .
  • Sophia Charlotte von Schloen, called Gehle, married Friedrich von Hammerstein in 1721.
