Corey Antoine Maggette (born November 12, 1979 in Melrose Park , Illinois ) is a retired American basketball player who was active in the NBA from 1999 to 2013 , most of it with the Los Angeles Clippers .

Career

Maggette was selected in the 1999 NBA draft in 13th place by the Seattle SuperSonics , but transferred to the Orlando Magic on the same day in exchange for Horace Grant . He played for the Magic for a year before being transferred to the Los Angeles Clippers in June 1999 . He was active there for eight years and had his best time in sport. 2004/05 Maggette played his personal best season with 22.2 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game.

In July 2008, he signed as a free agent with the Golden State Warriors . Again, he was a productive player with a good 19 points per game before he was transferred to the Milwaukee Bucks in June 2010 . At the Bucks, Maggette mostly played the role of the sixth man, averaging 12 points per game.

In June 2011, Maggette was transferred to the Charlotte Bobcats as part of a three-teal deal . For the Bobcats Maggette could only complete a total of 32 games due to several injuries, but remained an important player with 15 points per game.

The Bobcats transferred the forward to the Detroit Pistons in the summer of 2012 in exchange for Ben Gordon . In his last NBA season ( 2012/13 ) Maggette was used in only 18 games and averaged 5.3 points per game in 14.3 minutes.

Since retiring, Maggette has worked for Fox Sports as an analyst for the Clippers games and as a commentator for NCAA college games .
