Asociația Sport Club Corona 2010 Brașov was a Romanian football club from Brașov . The club, founded in 2007, played one season in League I and played its home games in the Stadionul Tineretului , which offers space for 8,500 spectators.

history

The association Asociaţia Sports Club Corona 2010 Brasov was founded in 2007 under the name Sport Club Municipal Braşov founded. The name change took place three years later and the current club name was introduced. Corona Brașov experienced such a steep rise in the first years of its existence, as it had rarely happened before in the history of Romanian football. Within four years, the club rose three times and completed the first promotion to the top division in Romanian football as the first of season two of League 2 2012/13 before ACS Poli Timișoara , just six years after the club was founded. Only FC Victoria Brănești, which has since been dissolved, had previously achieved a similar feat in the period from 2006 to 2010.

So you could find Corona Brașov in the 2013/14 season in the Romanian football club, where the club got off to a rather weak start to the season. And there was no real improvement in the further course of the season either. Was reached just two victories each at home against Ceahlăul Piatra Neamt and the FC Vaslui and ranked after the end of all game days with only fourteen points on the last place in the standings. 24 points separated the team from the penultimate, AFC Săgeata Năvodari . Corona Brașov had to go back to the second division after only one year in League 1. Shortly afterwards, the Mayor of Brașov, George Scripcaru, announced that the football department, which was funded by the county, was being wound up due to financial problems.

Stadion

Corona Brașov played its home games in its last season at Stadionul Tineretului , which is actually the home of local rivals FC Brașov . This is due to the fact that the actual home stadium of Corona Brașov, the Silviu Ploeşteanu Stadium, with its 1,000 seats, is too small to host games in the first Romanian football league. Although it was slightly renovated in 2010, it was not enough for League 1. Therefore, Corona Brașov played for the duration of its first class in the Stadionul Tineretului, where 8,500 spectators find space.
