Cory Asbury
Cory Asbury (born October 15, 1985 in Fort Lauderdale , Florida ) is an American Christian pop singer , songwriter and worship leader .
biography
Asbury began worshiping at the age of 14 and began his music career in 2005 at the International House of Prayer in Kansas City , Missouri . In July 2008 his first album Holy was released, a collaboration with singer Matt Gilman. The following year his first solo album, Let Me See Your Eyes, was released . Asbury was involved in several International House of Prayer releases , including Magnificent Obsession , which reached the Billboard Top Christian Albums in 2012 .
In 2012, Asbury moved with his family to Colorado Springs , where he became a member of New Life Church . In May 2015 he became a member of the Bethel Music collective . His first release with Bethel Music was the album Have It All , which was released in March 2016 and hit the Top 20 on the Billboard 200 .
In October 2017, Cory Asbury released his solo single Reckless Love as the lead single of his studio album of the same name. With this song he succeeded for the first time as a solo artist in the Billboard Hot Christian Songs. In March 2018, the single reached number one in these charts and stayed there for 18 weeks. Reckless Love reached first place in the annual Hot Christian Songs 2018 and was nominated for a Grammy in the category Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance / Song . The album Reckless Love was released in January 2018 and reached number 1 on the Top Christian Albums as well as number 53 on the Billboard 200 and number 73 on the Swiss charts .
In January 2020, The Father's House was released as the first single from his fourth studio album To Love a Fool , which was released in July 2020.
