Cory Lamar Crossgill Burke (born December 28, 1991 in Kingston ) is a Jamaican football player .

Career

society

Burke played at Rivoli United until 2016 . In February 2016 he switched to the USA on loan to Bethlehem Steel FC . He made his USL debut in May 2016 when he came on as a substitute for Seku Conneh on matchday eight of the 2016 season against FC Montréal in the 78th minute . In June 2016, he scored his first goal in the USL in a 1-0 win over Charlotte Independence . By the end of the season he came to 21 missions in which he scored four goals. He was signed on in November 2016.

In the 2017 season he came to 24 appearances for Bethlehem in the USL, in which he scored nine goals. For the 2018 season he moved to the Philadelphia Union , which Bethlehem serves as the farm team . He made his MLS debut for Philadelphia in March 2018 when he came on as a substitute for Fabian Herbers in the 66th minute of matchday one of that season against New England Revolution . In May 2018, he scored his first MLS goal in a 2-0 win over Montreal Impact . In that game, however, he was sent off for the first time with a red card in the 58th minute. In the 2018 season he made 29 appearances for Philadelphia in the MLS, in which he scored ten goals, and four appearances for Bethlehem in the USL. After another seven appearances in the MLS in the 2019 season, he was awarded to Portmore United FC in September 2019 due to visa problems to Jamaica .

In February 2020 it was awarded to the Austrian Bundesliga club SKN St. Pölten . By the end of the loan, he made eleven appearances in the Bundesliga , in which he scored four goals.

National team

Burke was in the Jamaican senior team for the first time against Panama in November 2015 . He made his debut for this in September 2016, when he started in the World Cup qualifying against Haiti and was replaced by Clayton Donaldson in the 74th minute . He scored his first goal for Jamaica in October 2016 in a 4-2 win over Guyana in qualifying for the Caribbean . With Jamaica he took part in the Gold Cup in 2017 . Burke came to five appearances during the tournament, with Jamaica he failed in the final against the USA .
