CosmicConnexion is a 160-minute French documentary from 2006 directed by Marie Cuisset and Anne Jaffrennou . The film was co-produced by Cargo Films and ARTE in cooperation with the CNES (CNES), which aired on 30 September 2006 in French and German on ARTE and parallel from a parabolic antenna of the CNES in Aussaguel at Toulouse in direction Errai - a binary star system 45 light years away in the constellation Cepheus , in which an exoplanet was detected - was emitted. The film thus also represents a message from humanity to extraterrestrials . It is based on the probes Pioneer 10 , Pioneer 11 , Voyager 1 , Voyager 2 , the Arecibo message and two messages (1999 and 2003) from a Ukrainian radio telescope in Evpatoria to try again to contact aliens.

Before the broadcast, viewers could send in their own suggestions or even entire video messages via the Internet, which were then incorporated into the actual broadcast. Together with the normal, topic-based programs, a particularly unusual and detailed insight into human culture was achieved.
