The Couzens Saddle is a 500 m mountain pass in the shape of a mountain saddle on the Shackleton coast of the Antarctic Ross Dependency . It lies between the Miscast Nunatakkern in the west and Mount Madison to the east and leads from the Byrd Glacier in the north to Couzens Bay in the south.
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the saddle in 2003 based on the name of Couzens Bay. Its namesake is Lieutenant Thomas Couzens (1931-1959) of the Royal New Zealand Air Force , who died on November 19, 1959 when he fell into a crevasse on Cape Selborne .
