The Cox Point is a rocky cape on the Hobbs coast of the west Antarctic Marie-Byrd-Land . It marks the southwest side of the confluence of the Garfield Glacier into Hull Bay .
He was discovered and photographed from the air by participants in the United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939–1941). The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him after Edgar Cox (1897 - unknown), carpenter of the second Antarctic expedition (1933-1935) of the American polar explorer Richard Evelyn Byrd .
