Cristina Alina Hirici (born April 6, 1992 in Bucharest ) is a Romanian table tennis player .

Career

She first appeared in 2005, where she took part in the European Schools Championships. There she reached the quarter-finals in singles and doubles. Further appearances followed in 2006, where she won three medals at the same event, namely bronze in singles and doubles, and silver with the team. In 2007 she was ninth in the youth TOP 10 tournament, at the European Schools Championship she was able to achieve first place in the individual competition in the same year.

She was also able to take part in the World Youth Championship, where she won the gold medal with the team after losing to China . In 2008 she was second again in the youth TOP 10 tournament, at the World Championship for adults she was able to reach the quarter-finals with the team. In 2009, the Romanian won gold in singles and with the team at the Youth World Cup, at the European Championship she was part of the Romanian team, which surprisingly won silver. In 2010 she won silver again at the same tournament, at the European Youth Championships she was able to get three medals again.

In 2011 she was only able to take part in the World Cup in Rotterdam , but failed in the individual after qualifying in the first round. Due to few tournaments and strong competition in her own country, she could not qualify for the 2012 Olympic Games in London . Among other things, she took part in the European Championship in Schwechat , where she was able to reach the quarter-finals in doubles with Bernadette Szőcs . She was not very active in 2014 either, but was able to move into the quarter-finals again with the team. She contributed to this with victories over Sweden , Australia and Hungary .

In 2015 she managed to win silver with the team at the European Championships , after the 2016 World Championships in Kuala Lumpur , she ended her career as a table tennis player.
