The FIA Marathonrallye Worldcup ( "FIA Worldcup for Cross Country Rallies" ) is an annual off-road rally under the supervision of the FIA .

The first season was held in 1993 under the name "FIA Cross-Country Rally World Cup". Since the 2011 season, the existing "FIA Cross-Country Rally World Cup" has been merged with the "FIA International Cup for Cross-Country Bajas".

In addition to the factory teams from Mitsubishi and Volkswagen , small teams such as BMW X-Raid and countless private individuals with heavily modified off-road vehicles also take part in the World Cup. The marathon rallies of the World Cup are the Manateq Qatar Cross Country Rally, the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge, the Turkmen Desert Race, the Rally Kazakhstan and the Rallye du Maroc.

Between 2001 and 2003 an attempt was made to organize a World Cup run in Germany as well, this was called " Baja Germany ". Due to the lack of a lobby, this event was held “under the supervision” of the FIA, but was never considered a “real” World Cup run by the stewards. From 2008 to 2017, Baja Germany took place as a license-free rally raid race.

run

Since 2011, a distinction has been made between the following events, which are combined into a common World Cup:

  • Cross Country Rally : The event is between 1,200 and 3,000 kilometers long and lasts a maximum of 8 days, including acceptance tests and prologue.
  • Cross Country Marathon : The event is at least 5,000 kilometers long and lasts a maximum of 21 days, including approvals and prologue.
  • Cross Country Baja : The event is 600 to 1,000 kilometers long, the rally lasts 1 to 2 days, minus acceptance tests and prologue.

The World Cup is open to vehicles from groups T1 (rally prototypes), T2 (near-series rally vehicles), T3 (special rally vehicles) & T4 (rally raid trucks). Vehicles of group T4 are allowed to start, but do not collect World Cup points.
