An anecdote about Crownsville says that this location was chosen by screenwriter Jeff Arch as the original location for the film Sleepless in Seattle , the main character of which works for a newspaper in nearby Baltimore . Due to the feared poor marketability of the place name, however, the title-defining Seattle was ultimately preferred to it.
