Crows ( Engl . Crow ) was a German power metal band, their lyrics strongly to the Native Americans focused.
history
Crows were founded in Dortmund in 1981 , the original line-up consisted of Bruno Mattukat, Jens-Uwe Roschkowski, Winni Hirsch, Frank Bankowski and Bobby Schottkowski , who was to remain the only continuous member of the band. Crows were one of the earliest metal bands from Dortmund and were also considered a local "talent factory".
In 1985, Born to Fight was a five-song demo . In 1986 the band recorded two more demo cassettes, but in the same year the original line-up broke up after Roschkowski was replaced by Stefan Knauer and Bankowski by Siggi Kromolka. In 1987 Crows took part with the song Final Fight in the sampler Teutonic Invasion Part One , initiated by Roadrunner Records , on which Violent Force , Minotaur and Paradox were also represented. New guitarists were hired in 1988, and Crows' fourth demo, consisting of three tracks, was created in that year. After two more self-recorded cassettes, the band produced the album The Dying Race in 1991 for Century Media Records with the former Wolf Spider singer Leszek Szpigiel, the returned Frank Bankowski and keyboardist Burkhard Mildner . In the same year the band broke up.
Schottkowski and Kost later joined Sodom , Szpigiel sang for Scanner and Mekong Delta , among others . After his departure, Winni Hirsch was briefly the guitarist of Angel Dust , where Roman Keymer, his successor at Crows, was previously active. Frank Bankowski was also a member of Angel Dust for several years and also played briefly for the American band CounterClockwise . Keymer later worked for Risk , Siggi Kromolka was bassist for Dark Zodiak from 2013 to 2015 .
Crows are not identical to the British post punk band of the same name .
