Song information

Musically, the album can be assigned to Power Metal throughout , the vocals have a slight echo . Too Proud to Fight , Change The Border and Insanitiy Defense are almost entirely in the slow tempo, while the other pieces are mostly held in the medium tempo. Guitar solos are used regularly.

In the lyrics, the band is dedicated to the natives of America as well as to their displacement and the destruction of their culture by European immigrants. The lyrical ego speaks regularly from the point of view of the oppressed, formulations like "quick mutilation of instincts and feeling - rape our talents to survive" are used in East Of Eden ), "march on like a lamb, in the arms of the slaughter" (Eng .: "march like a lamb into the arms of the butcher" in Change The Border ) and "Do you know there's hunger? Imagine that there's deadly pain ! " (Eng .: "Do you know that there is hunger? Imagine that there is pain in death!" in Insanitiy Defense ). With the exception of Insanitiy Defense , the verses of the individual songs are usually kept short and often only consist of two to four lines.

"Four" contains excerpts from The New Colossus as well as a reference to Canaan .

layout

The cover shows a frontal view of an Indian with head and neck jewelry. The right half of his face is covered by a graphic reminiscent of shattered glass. Two crows can be seen next to it.

Crows already gave a visual reference to Indian culture with the demo The Legions , the cover of which featured the idealized representation of a dream catcher with an integrated band logo and a crow sitting on it.

reception

In his review in the 55th edition of Rock Hard, Götz Kühnemund gave 8 out of 10 points and praised "how catchy melodies are combined with fast riffs". He also emphasized "the very clean and melodic vocal management" and the "powerful instrumentation".

On Rate Your Music , the album including the new release from 2013 was rated 3.55 out of a possible 5 points, spread over 77 reviews.

The overall rating of all issues on Discogs , based on 28 reviews, averages 4.11 out of 5 points.
