Non-metric cubic inches

Rhineland cubic inch
Parisian cubic inches
Parisian cubic inches was a widely used reference measure.

Prussian cubic inch
The Prussian Order of Measure and Weight of May 16, 1816 established the Prussian measure for all of Prussia .
- 1 cubic inch (Prussia) = 1728 cubic lines ≈ 17.891 cm³ = 0.017891 liters
English customs
The English inch is exactly 2.54 centimeters long, so a cubic inch has a volume of exactly 16.387064 cm³. The US gallon has a volume of exactly 231 cubic inches, the imperial gallon has not been derived from the cubic inch since its reform in 1824. (Up until the early 1950s, the English and US customs were slightly different from each other.)
