The Cunningham Peak is a 2170 m high and mostly icy mountain in the west Antarctic Ellsworthland . In the Heritage Range of the Ellsworth Mountains, it rises at the head of the Gowan Glacier along the Founders Escarpment .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it using its own surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1961 to 1966. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1966 after John B. Cunningham, responsible for the supply and laundry stocks on the McMurdo- Station during Operation Deep Freeze in 1966.
