Cynda Williams

Cynda Williams (born May 17, 1966 in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American actress .

Life and accomplishments

Williams graduated from Ball State University . She made her debut on the side of Denzel Washington in the musical drama Mo 'Better Blues by Spike Lee from 1990. In the thriller One False Move (1992) she played one of the leading roles alongside Bill Paxton and Billy Bob Thornton . For this role she was nominated in 1993 for the Independent Spirit Award .

In the television drama The Wedding (1998) Williams played one of the bigger roles alongside Halle Berry . In the television drama Rising Star (1999) she played a sister of Dorothy Dandridge (Halle Berry). In the comedy Tru Loved (2008) she and Alexandra Paul played two women who are in a lesbian relationship and raise Tru ( Najarra Townsend ) together .

Williams was married to Billy Bob Thornton from 1990 to 1992 ; from 1993 to 1998 she was married to actor Arthur Louis Fuller. In 2001 she married the film producer Roderick Plummer, with whom she has one child.
