Cyril Chapuis (born March 21, 1979 in Lyon ) is a former French football player .

League career

Chapuis began his professional career at Chamois Niort in Ligue 2 and then moved to Stade Rennes in Ligue 1 . In January 2002 he signed a five-year contract with Olympique Marseille .

He played there for a year and a half. He was then loaned to Leeds United , where he was used only once against Bolton in November 2003, then he played on loan at Racing Strasbourg (January to June 2004) and for AC Ajaccio (2004/05 season).

In 2005 he no longer had a contract. After more than a year without a club, he joined the Glasgow Rangers on a trial basis , but eventually signed with Grenoble Foot in Ligue 2 . This was followed by further positions at FC Metz and, after a three-year break, at FC Bourg-Péronnas before he ended his career there.

International career

Chapuis was appointed to the French U-21 national team. He was part of the squad that lost to the Czech U-21 national team in the final of the 2002 U-21 European Football Championship .
