Cyrillo de Paula Freitas

Cyrillo de Paula Freitas (born March 15, 1860 in Capelinha , Minas Gerais , Brazil , † March 9, 1947 in Paraopeba ) was a Brazilian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Corumbá .

Life

Cyrillo de Paula Freitas received on 30 May 1885 the bishop of Diamantina , João Antônio dos Santos , the sacrament of Holy Orders . He was parish vicar in the parish of Santa Rita in Malacacheta .

On March 27, 1905 appointed him Pope Pius X to the titular bishop of Eucarpia and Coadjutor Bishop of Cuiabá . The Bishop of Diamantina, Joaquim Silvério de Souza , donated him episcopal ordination on February 11, 1961 .

Pius X appointed him on March 13, 1911 as the first bishop of Corumbá. The inauguration took place on May 3 of the same year. On February 8, 1918, Pope Benedict XV. the resignation put forward by Cyrillo de Paula Freitas and appointed him titular bishop of Antipatris .

In Raposos a school is named after Cyrillo de Paula Freitas.
