Joaquim Silvério de Souza (born July 20, 1859 in São Miguel de Piracicaba , Minas Gerais , Brazil , † August 30, 1933 ) was a Brazilian clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Diamantina .

Life

Joaquim Silvério de Souza was on February 24, 1882 Deacon ordained and received on March 4 of that year, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On November 16, 1901, Pope Leo XIII appointed him . as titular bishop of Bagis and coadjutor bishop of Diamantina. The Bishop of Mariana , Silvério Gomes Pimenta , donated him episcopal ordination on February 2, 1902 ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Pouso Alegre , João Batista Corrêa Néri , and the Bishop of Espírito Santo , Fernando de Souza Monteiro CM .

On May 17, 1905, Joaquim Silvério de Souza became Bishop of Diamantina, succeeding the late João Antônio dos Santos . Pope Pius X appointed him on January 29, 1909 titular Archbishop of Axomis and auxiliary bishop in Rio de Janeiro . Joaquim Silvério de Souza was reappointed Bishop of Diamantina on January 25, 1910. On 28 June 1917 he was due to the collection of the Diocese of Diamantina the Archdiocese first Archbishop of Diamantina.
