history

Klein Zarnow was a fiefdom of the noble von Trampe family in the Duchy of Pomerania . The first owner known by name was a Peter von Trampe in 1530. In 1703/1704 Klein Zarnow was sold to Major General Adam Wilhelm von Sydow and then remained in the possession of the von Sydow family for 70 years . In 1773 the district administrator Franz Christian Gottlob von Steinaecker bought Klein Zarnow and lived here for a while with his family (his son Karl von Steinaecker was born here in 1778), but he sold Klein Zarnow again in 1785.

In Ludwig Wilhelm Brüggemann's detailed description of the Royal Prussian Duchy of Western and Western Pomerania (1784), Klein Zarnow is listed among the noble estates of the Greifenhagen district . In Klein Zarnow at that time there was a Vorwerk, ie the farm, six cottages, a smithy, a hunter's house and a schoolmaster, a total of 19 households (“fire places”). There was also a church that was a branch church of the church in Lindow .

From the 19th century, the Klein Zarnow manor district and the Klein Zarnow rural community coexisted. In 1900 there were 141 inhabitants in the Klein Zarnow manor district and 31 inhabitants in the Klein Zarnow rural community. Later the manor district was incorporated into the rural community. Until 1945 Klein Zarnow was a rural community in the Greifenhagen district of the Prussian province of Pomerania . In addition to Klein Zarnow, the community also included the Hohekrug and Torfmoor Buchwerder residential areas .

After 1945, Klein Zarnow, like all of Western Pomerania, came to Poland. Klein Zarnow was given the Polish name "Czarnówko".
