The 1st Division 1956/57 was the twelfth season, which was held by the Danish Football Association Dansk Boldspil Union . It began on August 18, 1956 and ended on June 9, 1957. The defending champion was Aarhus GF .

mode

Since the decision was made to adapt the season to the calendar year from the 1958 season (season start in March, season end in November), a third round was also played. Ten teams played against each other three times in the league, so that each team played 27 games. The top of the table after the end of the season was Danish champions.
