The 1991 season was the 46th season of the Danish 1st Division , which was held by the Danish Football Association Dansk Boldspil Union . It was the second highest division in Danish football behind the Danish Superliga .

Since the 1991/92 season was to start in August 1991 and the previous season did not end until the calendar year 1990, the season was held in spring 1991. In this, ten teams played against each other in a round trip.

The first in the table rose to the Superleague in 1991/92 . The table runner-up of the 1st division played in two relegation games against the table ninth in the Superliga for promotion to the Superliga in 1991/92. The two bottom of the table were relegated to the 2nd division.
