1st Division (Denmark)
The 1st division has been the second highest Danish football league since 1991 . From 1945 to 1990 the 1st division was the highest Danish football league. With the founding of the Danish Super League , the 1st Division became the second highest Danish football league.
Over the years the league has owned several name sponsors. Beginning in the mid-1990s with Faxe Kondi divisions, then Viasat Sport Divisions , Viasat Divisions and Betsafe Ligaen . The league currently has the sponsor name NordicBet League.
The first placed will be promoted to the Danish Super League . The runner-up and the third-placed come into the promotion playoffs. The last two placed are relegated to the 2nd division .
