Däulet Chamituly Sembajew ( Kazakh Дәулет Хамитұлы Сембаев , Russian Даулет Хамитович Сембаев Daulet Chamitowitsch Sembajew * 10. August 1935 in Alma-Ata , Kazakh SSR ) is a Kazakh economist and former president of the Kazakh National Bank .

Life

Däulet Zembayev was born in Alma-Ata in 1935. He graduated from the Kazakh Mining and Metallurgy Institute in 1958 .

He began his professional career at the Kirow machine factory in his hometown of Alma-Ata, where he held various positions. From 1966, Sembayev worked for the State Planning Committee of the Kazakh SSR. Between 1975 and 1983 he was employed by the Council of Ministers of the Kazakh SSR before he was subsequently chairman of the State Planning Committee of the Kazakh SSR for four years. From 1987 to 1990 he was again deputy chairman of the State Planning Committee and from November 1990 Sembayev was deputy chairman of the Supreme Economic Council of the Kazakh Soviet Republic.

From October 1991 he held the position of Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan and from February 1992 he was the first Deputy Prime Minister. On December 20, 1993 he was appointed second president of the Kazakh National Bank . Sembayev headed the business of the National Bank for around two years until he was replaced by Oras Shandosov on January 10, 1996 . From December 1995 he became a member of the Kazakh Senate , where he was chairman of the Committee on Economy, Finance and Budget. From 1999 he was Chairman of the Council of the Association of Financiers of the Republic of Kazakhstan and also held various management positions at Kazkommertsbank .
