Décio Pereira

Décio Pereira (born April 15, 1940 in São Paulo , † February 5, 2003 in Santo André ) was a Brazilian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Santo André .

Life

Décio Pereira was ordained a priest on January 22, 1967 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him on April 2, 1979 auxiliary bishop in São Paulo and titular bishop of Martirano . The Pope personally donated him episcopal ordination on May 27 of the same year . Co-consecrators were the Curia Archbishops Eduardo Martínez Somalo , substitute for the State Secretariat , and Duraisamy Simon Lourdusamy , Secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples . As a motto he chose Ut Vitam Habeant .

On May 21, 1997, he was appointed Bishop of Santo André.
