The lake belongs to the Uckermark Lake District . The water is very indented with a 0.5 hectare island.
The Ucker reaches it from the Großer Krinertsee, a few meters to the southwest . Shortly after the outflow, it is piped for a short distance in the Alt-Temmen area. It then flows on through Mühlensee and Behrendsee to Oberuckersee .
