The landscape around Dütschow is the beginning of the flat plains of the Lewitz landscape protection area .

history

Dütschow was first mentioned in a document in the 15th century. In particular from the time of the Thirty Years' War there are a number of documents in the State Archives in Schwerin that document how much Dütschow suffered during the chaos of war and that the population was decimated. Extensive documents are also available on the leases of the state domain (Gut Dütschow) and the construction of the railway.

Dütschow today

The main economic focus of the village today is agriculture and a number of craft businesses. Since the fall of the Wall in 1989, many houses and buildings in the village have been renovated, so that today Dütschow offers a beautiful village backdrop.

Good Dütschow

The old Dütschow estate did not previously belong to the village and was a state domain of the Grand Duke of Mecklenburg. In the 19th century the mansion was built as a two-storey brick building with lime plastered cornices and pilasters and a base made of granite blocks.

When the construction of the railway line began in 1879, the Dütschow estate was obliged by order of the Grand Duke to supply all the oak railway sleepers that were required for the route that crossed the estate's lands. In addition, the property had to surrender the land required for the track bed free of charge. On the other hand, the goods had an economic advantage over other goods in the following years, as the cultivated and harvested products could now be loaded directly into freight wagons at low cost and there was no need for expensive transport to far-off loading stations.

After the Second World War , the Dütschow estate became an LPG . The mansion served as a residential building and was divided for several families. A small outbuilding went into private ownership as part of the land reform. The manor house and the remaining outbuildings have been privately owned by the Stolpe family since 1995. The new owners have carried out extensive renovations on the manor house since 1995. The renovations on the main building were completed in 2005.
