Jakob Wolfer

Jakob Wolfer (born January 17, 1911 in Drohobycz , Galicia, † May 6, 1984 in Vienna ) was extraordinary clergyman of the Evangelical Church AB Austria , board member of the Evangelical Press Association Austria, Federal Curate of the Order of St. Lazarus and Federal Chairman of the Evangelical Union of Austria . Among other things, he is the holder of the Great Silver Decoration of Honor of the Republic of Austria.

Life

Wolfer completed his university studies in Protestant theology in Posen, Greifswald and Vienna, where he obtained his master's degree in theology in 1934. In 1938 he was appointed to Austria by the Evangelical Oberkirchenrat AB in Vienna. The daughter Hilde-Helga was born in November 1939, and son Johann Martin in 1947 . In May 1940 he was unanimously elected for the vicarage at the Evangelical Parish of Vienna-Währing in the Luther Church . In 1956 he was appointed first pastor of the Evangelical Parish AB Wien-Währing by the second. In 1965 he was elected Senior von Wien (one of the two deputies of the superintendent). In 1972 elected to the extraordinary spiritual council of the Evangelical Church AB in Austria. (The upper church council together with the bishop form the full-time church leadership)

By resolution of August 28, 1973, the Viennese provincial government awarded him the Silver Medal of Honor for services to the State of Vienna in recognition of his special organizational achievements. In 1975 the Federal President of the Republic of Austria awarded him the Great Silver Medal of Honor of the Republic of Austria for services to the Republic of Austria. In 1980, the Austrian Federal President honored his literary achievements by awarding him the professional title of Professor.

Wolfer died on May 6, 1984. He was buried in a grave of honor, which is located in the Evangelical Cemetery at Vienna's Central Cemetery .
