history

In older times, the village belonged to an estate district to which, in addition to Groß-Benz, also Klein-Benz and the manor Faulen-Benz (older place name: Vulenbenze ) and the associated administrative district Faulenbenz belonged. On November 28, 1884 Lazy Benz was at the request of the manor owner Carl Heller in Eichenwalde renamed so that the District henceforth District Eichenwalde said. Around 1780 the manor district had belonged to the Saatziger district.

Archaeological finds show that the area around Eichenwalde was settled in the most ancient times. A travel report by the bishop and missionary Otto von Bamberg shows that he was baptized here in 1124 and was probably also present here in 1125. The Otto fountain , which is 1.5 meters wide and two meters deep and is said to have been used for baptism, is named after him.

Around 1930 the district of Eichenwalde had an area of 11.6 km². There were two residential areas with a total of 76 residential buildings in the district:

  1. Benzrode
  2. Oak Forest

In 1925 503 inhabitants were counted, which were distributed over 106 households.

Before 1945 Eichenwalde belonged to the rural county Naugard in the administrative district of Stettin of Pomerania .

Towards the end of World War II , the residents tried to flee from the advancing Red Army , but not all of them succeeded. After their trek was overrun by Soviet troops, many were forced to return. After the end of the war, Eichenwalde was placed under Polish administration together with all of Western Pomerania . The immigration of Polish civilians began. The German village of Eichenwalde was renamed Dębice . The remaining residents were expelled on June 24, 1945 .
