D. Todd Christofferson (2017)

David Todd Christofferson (born January 24, 1945 in Pleasant Grove , Utah ) is a religious leader in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and has been a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles since 2008 .

Life

Christofferson grew up in Utah. At the age of 15 he moved to New Jersey and attended a local high school . He then studied at Brigham Young University in Provo , Utah, where he received a bachelor's degree. Christofferson continued his studies at Duke University , where he received his Juris Doctor . From 1972 to 1974 he was the law clerk for Judge John Sirica . From 1975 to 1980 he practiced as a lawyer in Washington, DC. Later in his career, Christofferson served as senior vice president and general counsel of the Commerce Union Bank of Tennessee in Nashville , and as associate general counsel of the NationsBank Corporation in Charlotte , North Carolina .

In April 1993 he was called to the First Quorum of the Seventy . Since 1998 he has also been a member of the Presidency of the Seventy . On April 5, 2008, Andersen was called to be an Apostle of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles . He thus filled the gap that Dieter F. Uchtdorf left in the college.

Christofferson is married with five children. In his youth he was a missionary in Argentina .
