The DBB Jugend (dbbj) is the youth association of the German Association of Civil Servants according to §7 of the DBB statutes . According to the statutes, members are all members of the DBB trade unions belonging to the German Association of Officials from the age of 16 to 30, a total of around 150,000 members.

Karoline Herrmann has been federal chairwoman since May 12, 2017.

The organization consists of the federal association, the 16 state federations and the 22 specialist youth unions. The largest regional associations are Bavaria and North Rhine-Westphalia (approx. 22,000 members).

National activities

The dbbj is publicly active mainly in the fields of youth and labor market policy. The "youth policy ideas" are introduced in bodies such as the German Federal Youth Association or the State Youth Association . The DBB Jugend has launched initiatives on important socio-political issues. B. the initiative “Basic values ​​and changing values ​​- just empty words?”.

DBB Jugend is an independent youth welfare organization and also a member of the youth welfare group .

International activities

In 1997 the CESI Youth Division was founded, which works closely with the CESI (“European Union of Independent Trade Unions”) for the concerns of (trade union) youth on a European level.

The dbbj has worldwide contacts. Youth exchanges are currently being carried out with Ukraine and Israel.
