DHB Women's Cup 1975

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The games for the women's DHB Cup, first played in 1975 , only comprised two rounds. Only the four regional champions who had not won the title in the championship final were eligible to participate . The participants were TSV GutsMuths Berlin as master of the Berlin regional association, TSV Rot-Weiß Kiebitzzeile as master of RV North, TSV Rot-Weiß Auerbach as master of RV Southwest and FC Bayern Munich as master of RV South. The TuS Eintracht Minden as a master of RV West had previously become German champions and therefore did not take part in the cup competition. The two finalists were determined in semi-finals with a return leg. The final took place on September 6, 1975 in Rüsselsheim . The new competition was created with a view to the new European Cup Winners' Cup , which was scheduled to take place from the 1976/77 season and for which a participant was to be determined in a competition different from the championship. Although the women's cup winner in 1975 could not yet qualify for a European Cup (as this was not introduced until the season after next), the cup championship for men and women was introduced in parallel in 1975, as the European Cup competition for men was already played a year earlier.
