Individual evidence

  1. PSV Rostock took over the starting position of HC Empor Rostock after the women's team, including all junior women's teams, was spun off for financial reasons in 2002.
  2. After relegation from the 1st Bundesliga in 2002/03, TuS Eintracht Minden got out of professional handball and thus also lost its authorization to start the 2003/04 DHB Cup.
  3. The DJK Augsburg-Hochzoll had to relegate to the regional league after the second division season 2002/03 due to a lack of playing rights for two players and then withdrew from the professional sector due to a lack of sponsors. This also meant that the starting place for the 2003/04 DHB Cup was lost.
