Sittig from Knorr

Sittig von Knorr (* 1784 ; † January 19, 1847 ) was a German soldier and member of parliament.

Sittig von Knorr was the son of the representative of the imperial estates of the Kingdom of Westphalia , Anton Carl Philipp Christian von Knorr (1750-1826) from the Thuringian noble family Knorr . Sittig von Knorr embarked on a military career and was most recently a Prussian lieutenant colonel a. D. Sittig von Knorr was Lord of Sollstedt and Breitenbich , in 1837 administrator of the district office in Mühlhausen and in 1839 a member of the provincial parliament of the province of Saxony .

With him, the noble Knorr family died out in the male line, as he and his wife Friederike von Laure only had two daughters. The two sons-in-law Wilhelm von Wintzingerode-Knorr and August von Hanstein-Knorr therefore added their names to a name and coat of arms association -Knorr. Both daughter lines, Hanstein-Knorr and Wintzingerode-Knorr, are also descendants of Landgrave Wilhelm IX through the respective mothers of their ancestors (von Sittig von Knorr's two sons-in-law) . von Hessen-Kassel and the Rosa Dorothea Ritter .
