Sollstedt is a district of the municipality of Menteroda in the Unstrut-Hainich district in Thuringia .

The district of Sollstedt is on average 455 meters above sea level. The road 2093 connects the village with traffic. The village is located west of Menteroda and south of Deuna on weathered shell limestone soil .

history

Sollstedt was first mentioned in a document in September 1221. The community assumes 1229. The peasants of the place were mostly unfree because they had monastery land as fief and had to pay interest or fiefs. The starting point was the Volkenroda monastery . Later there was only one farm that belonged to the monastery. After the dissolution of the monastery in 1540, the village belonged to the sphere of influence of the Free and Imperial City of Mühlhausen for centuries .

In 1802, Sollstedt and Mühlhausen fell to the Kingdom of Prussia , from 1807 to 1813 to the Kingdom of Westphalia ( canton Dachrieden ) created by Napoleon , and after the Congress of Vienna in 1816 it was assigned to the district of Mühlhausen in the Prussian province of Saxony .

From 1945 to 1990 agriculture was carried out in the village according to socialist planning . Recently a community hall and biological sewage treatment plant have been built. 119 residents lived in the village as of December 31, 2010.
