DJ Encore (* 1979 in Copenhagen ) is a Danish DJ , music producer and songwriter . His real name is Andreas Hemmeth .

biography

Andreas Hemmeth is the son of a music teacher and a classical musician. They introduced him to music at an early age, so he learned to play the piano and guitar as a child and practiced mixing on the computer. Even before his 20th birthday, he was a regular DJ in three Copenhagen clubs. He switched between different music styles such as techno , trance , dance-pop and eurodance .

While DJ Encore was working as a technician for producer Funkstar de Lux , an employee of Sony Music Publishing heard a demo from him and suggested a collaboration with the Danish singer Engelina . Although Engelina had previously been more active in jazz and R&B, the two teamed up and released their first single I Can See Right Through to You in March 2001 . The Euro-Dance-Song was very successful especially in Denmark. It went straight to number 1 on the Danish singles chart and was chosen as the theme song for the Danish edition of Big Brother . In Germany it made it to number 66. In October 2001, the corresponding album Intuition was released by Universal Music . It reached number 11 on the Billboard Top Electronic Albums and number 7 on the Danish album charts.

In 2002 DJ Encore and Engelina parted ways. Engelina later became a member of the pop trio Sha Li Mar.

In the same year, DJ Encore released the mix album Ultra.Dance 02 on the EDM label Ultra Records . In addition to a remix of his hit I See Right Through to You , it included features by ATB , Tiësto , Paul van Dyk , Chemical Brothers and Masters at Work . The album entered several Billboard charts, including number 6 on the Top Electronic Albums and number 180 on the Billboard 200 .

In 2007 DJ Encore released his second album Unique on Koch Records .
