DJ Gogo (born March 9, 1968 ; real name Peter Sacco ) is a Swiss progressive house - DJ , producer and entrepreneur . He grew up as the son of Italian immigrants in Wohlen .

life and career

DJ Gogo got his start in 1987 when he gave up playing musical instruments and instead began spinning records. Sacco was significantly involved in the development of the techno movement in Zurich , which at that time was still mostly underground . In 1991 he opened one of the first Zurich techno clubs together with Adriano Taurian , organized parties in another well-known club and played as a DJ in various clubs. At the second Street Parade in 1993, Gogo was there with his own love mobile .

In 1994 Gogo joined the party label Tarot , which organized parties at the Oxa and the nearby Sensor Club . In addition, he began to play as a resident DJ in a well-known gay club, which subsequently helped shape the Zurich party scene. In addition, DJ Gogo also played abroad and in 1996 was the first Swiss DJ to play in Club Pacha on Ibiza .

With increasing success as a DJ, Sacco began his production career in the mid-1990s and was signed to a Dutch label as the main producer and artist. As a result, Gogo mainly produced titles that were used by internationally known DJs, among others. In contrast to other former tarot DJs such as DJ Tatana , DJ Energy or DJ Antoine , Gogo refrained from releasing commercial records. His productions intended for the commercial audience were essentially limited to his album Deep from 2001 and the two compilations Street Parade 2004 Underground and Q1 , with which he reached the Swiss charts.

In spring 2001, Gogo and several partners took over a Zurich club and turned it into Club Q, where he is a co-owner and resident DJ.
