DJ U-Neek , alternative spelling DJ U-Neek , real name Tim Middleton , is an American music producer .

Career

DJ U-Neek began his professional music career in 1993 with productions for the album "SlaughtaHouse" by Masta Ace Incorporated , a hip-hop group around Masta Ace .

The following year he worked for the first time with Bone Thugs-N-Harmony , with whom he had his greatest success. He composed for their EP "Creepin on ah Come Up", which sold more than two million times in the USA. In 1995 he then completely produced their long player " E. 1999 Eternal ", of which more than four million units were sold in the USA. The coupled-out singles from it, "1st of tha Month" and "Tha Crossroads", received by the RIAA a gold - or a double platinum award.

In 1996 he was involved in the soundtracks for the films Set It Off and Great White Hype - Eine KOMödie . In the latter, he published for the first time under his own name. The single "Movin 'On" featuring Nyt Owl was released, which was able to place in the New Zealand charts .

After working on “Steady Risin '” for the album “Total Control” by rapper Yo Yo , he reunited with Bone Thugs-N-Harmony in 1997 for their next work “The Art of War”. Like their debut, this album also received a quadruple platinum from the RIAA.

In 1998, collaborations with Mack 10 for his longplayer "The Recipe" and the soundtrack for the film Ride followed , before DJ U-Neek released his solo debut in 1999 with the title "Ghetto Street Pharmacist". The album, which featured guest contributions from several members of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and Cold 187um , had only genre-specific success with number 63 on the R&B album charts of Billboard magazine . Neither of the decoupled singles "We Come 2 Serve Em" (interpreted by KingPin Family) and "Doctor Doctor" (interpreted by Gemini featuring Bizzy Bone ) could not find any mainstream resonance, only the former reached position 49 in "Hot Rap" Singles ”from Billboard has some commercial significance.

In the following years, DJ U-Neek concentrated again on working with Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and their solo projects. These works still had sales success, but could not match those of "Creepin on ah Come Up", "E. 1999 Eternal ”and“ The Art of War ”. In 2008 he also published the two compilations “Bone Instrumentals Part 1” and “Bone Instrumentals Pt. 2 “, on which he compiled songs by the Bone Thugs that he had produced without their raps .

He only played sporadically with other artists, for example in 2001 on the song "Silly Niggaz" for the album "Up Close and Personal" by Angie Martínez and in 2013 on Troy Aves' sound carrier "New York City - The Album".
