DJ Zinc (* 1972 in London , England ; real name Ben Pettit ) is an English DJ and music producer in the drum and bass genre .

Career

He became famous in 1995 with the Jungle - Tune Super Sharp Shooter . Together with his friend and mentor DJ Hype , he was part of the Ganja Kru and later the True Playaz . DJ Zinc's style is generally more hip-hop than techno , and many of his productions are heavily jump-up .

DJ Zinc also works as a Dope Skillz and less often than Pacific , Tuned Air , Tyranny or 66% . He produces Breaks tracks under the pseudonym Jammin and is also successful in the 2-step genre. He publishes the majority of his drum and bass pieces on the labels True Playaz , Global Thang and Frontline . DJ Zinc also runs his own label called Bingo Beats . In 2001 DJ Zinc released a compilation of remixes of his pieces under the name Beats by Design , in August 2004 his second album Faster was released .
