The Dachsberg (also: Hinterer Dachsberg ) is located in the northwestern Odenwald, approx. 1.2 km southeast of Darmstadt . The mountain in the Darmstadt forest area is heavily forested. At the northeastern foot of the mountain is the "Wilbrand-Brünnchen" which is part of the Darmbachaue nature reserve . Immediately to the west of the “Wilbrand-Brünnchens”, at the northeastern foot of the Dachsberg, is the “Paul-Trinkglas-Tempel” shelter. Approx. The Dommerberg with the Bismarck tower is located 250 m west of the Dachsberg summit . On the southeast slope, below the summit, there is a rock formation. The B 449 (Nieder-Ramstädter Straße / Odenwaldstraße) runs on the southwest slope of the Dachsberg.

etymology
To Old High German and Middle High German dahs with the meaning " badger ". The name Dachsberg refers to the preferred locations and structures of the roof. The mountain is nicknamed "Hinterer Dachsberg" in order to distinguish it from the nearby "Vorderen Dachsberg".
