Daichi Miura ( Japanese三浦 大 知; Miura Daichi ; born August 24, 1987 in Okinawa , Japan ) is a Japanese J-Pop singer with R&B influences. Daichi signed his record deal with Sonic Groove , a sub-label of Avex Trax . For his management he is under contract with Rising Production. B. Artists like Nana Tanimura under contract.

Life

For the New Year 2015, Daichi married a woman unknown to the media, with whom he had been together for some time. Towards the end of 2016, they both gave birth to a son.

Music career

Daichi made his debut in 1997 as a singer in the group Folder , which consisted of students from the Okinawa Actors School . On May 19, 1999, he released a solo single called Big Heart . However, he left the group in 2000 due to his voice breaking . Musically, in addition to singing, he also plays piano and guitar . His inspirations include Justin Timberlake and Usher .

2004 to 2006: Official debut and D-Rock with U

On August 1, 2004, he started his comeback as a solo artist and released his debut single Keep It Goin 'On on March 30, 2005. The single reached # 14 on the Oricon charts and sold almost 25,000 times. In June of that year they released the second single entitled Free Style , which was also a top 20 hit. Eventually the third single, entitled Southern Cross, was released in October of that year and debuted at # 34 on the Oricon charts.

In January 2006 he released his first collaboration with singer Utamaru from the Japanese music group Rhymester. The single debuted at # 29 and stayed in the charts for three weeks. Two weeks later, the first studio album entitled D-Rock with U was released , and it landed at # 18 on the Oricon charts. In March of that year, his first concert video entitled D-Rock with U: Daichi Miura Live Chapter 2 @ Shibuya-AX , which was produced in cooperation with MTV Japan , was released.

2007 to 2009: Who's the Man era - commercial depression

After more than a year of silence, Daichi released his next single, Flag , in July 2007. With a high of # 62 and a one week chart stay on the Oricon charts, this single is currently considered his worst-selling single. It finally passed another year before he released the single Inside Your Head in July 2008 . For the first time he created the choreography for the song himself, which led to the fact that he choreographed the dances for many of his songs himself.

His seventh single, Your Love , was released on February 11, 2009. This single is a collaboration with the Japanese singer Kreva. The following May, the next single, Delete My Memories, followed, and in July, he went on a short tour of two concerts in Tokyo and Osaka . Finally, the second studio album with the title Who's the Man followed in September of that year. This studio album only reached # 27 on the Oricon charts. At the end of the year, in November, they released another concert video entitled Daichi Miura Live 2009: Encore of Our Love , which refers to the short tour in July.

2010 to 2011: DM era - commercial rise

In February 2010 he released the collaboration Possibility with the South Korean singer BoA with music video for BoA's seventh studio album Identity . It wasn't until the following August that Daichi came back for his own discography with the next single The Answer , where he changed his image by changing his curly hairstyle and going more into contemporary R&B music. Another single called Lullaby followed in December of that year. The song was used as the theme song for the Future Tracks R show and debuted at # 16.

On May 25, 2011 the third concert video titled Daichi Miura Live Tour 2010: Gravity was released, on June 1 the single Touch Me and later in August the single Turn Off the Light . In addition, the third studio album with the title DM followed on November 30, 2011. With a top ranking of # 7, this was also Daichi's first Top 10 entry in his entire musical career. The studio album sold almost 26,000 times and was able to outbid its most successful record to date, Keep It Goin 'On .

2012 to 2013: The Entertainer era - commercial high point

The fourth concert video, entitled Daichi Miura Live Tour 2011: Synesthesia , was released in February 2012. The twelfth single, Two Hearts , attracted more attention and debuted at # 9 on the Oricon charts, making it his first single in the top 10. Just two weeks later, he was part of a collaboration with Miho Fukuhara for their single Dream On . Another concert video with the title Daichi Miura Live 2012 "DM" followed in Budokan in August , and another single Elevator was released a week later . To conclude the year, the single Right Now / Voice was released in December , which is praised by its fan base as the favorite single. The single hit # 7 on the charts and sold nearly 24,000 copies.

At the beginning of 2013 he released the concert Extime Tour 2012 on Blu-ray and DVD in January . Two months later, in March, he made his first video compilation entitled Choreo Chronicle 2008-2011 Plus , which includes music videos as well as choreographies. In July of that year, the single Go for It was released and reached # 8 in the charts. Finally, the fourth studio album followed in November, entitled The Entertainer , which was advertised with the promo single I'm on Fire . Since 2014: Fever and Excite

As in the previous year, another concert was released on BD and DVD in January 2014. The title was Daichi Miura Live Tour 2013: Door to the Unknown . In March of that year the single Anchor was released , in October the video release for the concert Daichi Miura Live Tour 2014: The Entertainer . The following month the single Bring It Down was released , another month later another Fureau Dake ga: Always with You ( ふ れ あ う だ け で ) and finally in December of that year the CD single Fureau Dake ga: Always with You / It's the Right Time .

Just two months later, in February 2015, the next single entitled Unlock was released. The single Music followed in June of that year, but placed 11th outside the top 10. Only in September did the fifth studio album follow, which with a top ranking of # 3 is his most successful release in terms of charts so far, but the sales figures fell and was therefore sold less than The Entertainer and DM . The video for Choreo Chronicle 2012-2015 Plus followed at the end of the year .

In February 2016, the video for the concert Daichi Miura Live Tour 2015: Fever followed , whereby the Blu-ray version achieved the highest ranking in the Oricon Blu-ray music charts and is thus the first weekly highest ranking in his career. The 19th single Cry & Fight was announced for March 30th, but it was only a moderate success. On May 6th, he made his first appearance on the popular Japanese music show Music Station , in which pop musicians of varying success who are popular in Japan perform weekly. The singer and the Dream On collaboration partner Miho Fukuhara shared the contribution to the Music Station performance on the social network Facebook and described, in addition to her congratulations, that performing there was one of Daichi's biggest dreams. On October 2, another single called Excite was released as a short version. This song was used as the theme song for the series Kamen Rider Ex-Aid . In October, the next single with the title (Re) Play followed .

In relation to the previous intervals between the releases, he released another single early on January 18, 2017. The single is titled Excite and refers to the short version that was previously released. On the first day the single sold 13,067 times and landed at # 1 on the daily Oricon single charts for the first time in his career. At the end of the week he finally achieved # 1 in the weekly Oricon singles charts for the first time in his musical career and at the same time he succeeded in his best-selling single Keep It Goin 'On ( Keep It Goin' On) with this record of 29,789 units sold in one week ( 2005), which sold 24,542 units in the entire chart stay of ten weeks.
