The Daifang Headquarters was an administrative unit of the Chinese Empire under the Wei and Jin dynasties . It was located on the Korean Peninsula and was conquered by the Kingdom of Goguryeo in 313 .

history

Gongsun Kang , who as a warlord had taken over the Chinese command offices in Liaodong in the early 3rd century , divided the Lelang command offices in 204 and set up the Daifang command offices in the southern half. From there he could watch his southern neighbors.

In 236, General Sima Yi , who served under Wei Emperor Cao Rui , defeated the Gongsun family and annexed Liaodong, Lelang and Daifang. An attempt to subdue the southern tribes failed because of their uprising, which was eventually stifled by the armies from Lelang and Daifang.

The Daifang Command was taken over by the Jin Dynasty. When the civil war broke out in the 4th century, Jin could no longer hold the area. Zhang Tong ( Chinese  張 統 ) started his own business in Lelang and Daifang. After the Xiongnu conquered the Jin capital of Luoyang in 311 , he sought help from Murong Hui, the warlord of the Xianbei . Goguryeo annexed Lelang and Daifang shortly afterwards. The predominance of Chinese culture in this region faded in the centuries that followed.

The Daifang headquarters were in Hwanghaedo and Kyǒnggido. According to Jin's book , it consisted of seven prefectures ( Chinese   ):

  2. Liekou ( Chinese  列 口 )
  3. Nanxin ( Chinese  南 新 )
  4. Changcen ( Chinese  長 岑 )
  5. Tixi ( Chinese  提 奚 )
  6. Hanzi ( Chinese  含 資 )

The capital was in Daifang Prefecture, but has not yet been located. Historians suspect it is on the Han River , while archaeologists believe an excavation site in Hwanghae-do province to be the capital.
