Dajny (German Deunen ) is a village in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship in north-eastern Poland . The place belongs to Gmina Zalewo in Powiat Iławski .
geography
Dajny is located in the moraine landscape of the Oberland , about six kilometers north of Zalewo.
history
Deunen was founded by the Teutonic Order as the estate of a small free one .
In the 19th century Deunen had the status of an estate district . In 1874 it was incorporated into the Koschainen district in the Mohrungen district. As part of a territorial reform (dissolution of the manor districts in Prussia) Deunen was incorporated into the rural community Sadlauken in 1928. Deunen's administrative affiliation as described in this way continued until 1945.
After the incorporation into the Polish state, Deunen was renamed Dajny and added to the newly formed Gmina Zalewo. Today the place is the seat of a Schulzenamt , to which Sadławki still belongs.
