Dakota - Only the Colt was his law is a spaghetti western that was premiered in German on video. Edoardo Mulargia's film, also published under the title Oath of the Outlaw , received muted reviews.
action
Tombstone Sheriff Joe Russell is in charge of a gold shipment that falls into the hands of bandits. He is suspected of being involved in the raid and sentenced to 15 years in a labor camp. Since many of those arrested by him live there, he has to endure a lot. His brother Slim helps him escape. Then Russell, who is also called Dakota, sets off on the corpse-laden search for the real person responsible, whom he finally finds and can pose in the district attorney Donovan. Then he can return to his sheriff's post and to his girlfriend Jean.
criticism
Ulrich Bruckner describes the film as pretty boring (in: For a few more corpses. Munich 2006); Christian Keßler said: "The film needed a little more care and, above all, decidedly more speed, because the individual scenes also drag on."
