The Dala is a tributary of the Rhone in the Swiss Upper Valais . It flows through the Dala valley named after it .

Problem

The sole of the Dala near Leukerbad has deepened considerably in recent years. Today, a critical base level has been reached in terms of slope stability . Landslides with debris flow and flooding consequences can no longer be ruled out. Because of this danger, the canton of Valais had a renovation project drawn up . (Status: 2005.)
