The Dalaman Çayı is a river in southwest Turkey .
The Dalaman Çayı rises in the Yaylacık Dağı mountain range in the western Taurus . It initially flows as Horzum Çayı in a northerly direction. The Yapraklı dam is located on the upper reaches . It flows east past Gölhisar and gradually turns to north-northwest. At the Bedirbey settlement, it turns sharply to the south-southwest. It flows through the Acıpayam County of Denizli Province . At the settlement of Yolçatı the Hüsniye Çayı flows into the river on the left. In the lower reaches the Dalaman Çayı cuts through the mountains and has numerous rapids. A 20 km long stretch of river is a popular destination for rafting tours. The level of difficulty is III – IV. Shortly before it leaves the mountains, the river from the Akköprü dam is dammed into a reservoir. Finally the Dalaman Çayı reaches the coastal plain and flows into the Mediterranean at Dalaman . The total length of Dalaman Çayı is 229 km. Its catchment area covers about 5250 km². The mean discharge is 56 m³ / s.
The Dalaman Çayı was called Indos (Latinized Indus ) in ancient times .
