Gölhisar is a district and a county seat in the Turkish province of Burdur . The district is located in the southwest of the province and is internally bordered by the Altınyayla districts in the south and Çavdır in the east. In the west, the Denizli province forms the border with the Çameli and Acıpayam districts .

In ancient times the district town was called Sinda .

The district was created in 1953 by splitting off from Tefenni district . It lost over half of its territory in May 1990 when Alitinayla and Cavdir counties were re-created. In addition to the district town (2018: 68.58% of the district's population ), it currently consists of another Belediye (small town): Yusufca with 2,079 inhabitants.
