Yeşilova ( Turkish for green plain ) is a district and a district town in the west of the Turkish province of Burdur . The city is located about 60 kilometers in a south-westerly direction from the provincial capital.

The county

Yeşilova County was established in 1936. Before that it was a Nahiya with a center Kayadibi, later Beylerli. In 1867, Satırlar finally became the county’s capital. It borders the provinces Denizli and Afyon to the north and west , Karamanlı district to the south and the central Burdur district to the east . The lakes Salda Gölü , Akgöl and on the border with Burdur the Yarışlı Gölü are located in the district .

The district is the third largest in the province and has only about a third of the province's population density. In addition to the district town (with around 36 percent of the district population), it consists of 36 villages with an average of 276 inhabitants. Güney (1,147) and Salda (1,098 pop). are the greatest. Both had significantly more inhabitants around the year 2000 and were still municipalities ( Belediye ).
