Çavdır is a district and a county seat in the Turkish province of Burdur . The district is in the south of the province and the county seat in the north of the district. It houses almost 40 percent of the district's population.

The county

The district was created on May 20, 1990 by splitting off from Gölhisar district. It borders Tefenni County to the north and Altınyayla and Gölhisar counties to the west . Externally it borders in the north-west on the province of Denizli ( Acıpayam district ) as well as on the provinces of Antalya ( Korkuteli district ) in the east and Muğla ( Seydikemer district ) in the south.

In addition to the district town, there is another municipality ( Belediye ), Söğüt (3,090 inhabitants ). There are also ten villages ( Köy ) with an average of 493 residents. Kozağacı is the largest of these with 1,189 inhabitants.
